Ruby White Tips Review

Hello all,

I had the pleasure of reviewing a polish for Ruby White Tips! The polishes current name is Three-Four??? but the name might be changed before the launch. What an odd name I thought but Laura (the maker) explained that she has temporarily given it this name because of how many colors she has seen in it... Makes sense to me. She says 'Needs a new name. I was thinking "Oh my" '

This polish was sent to me for review so everything expressed here is my honest and unbiased opinion.

At first glance when pulling the brush out of the bottle I thought WOW this is runny! But on the contrary! Goes on very smooth! This is a layering polish. This color is very versatile! It pulls so many different colors depending on what you put under it!

New way to follow!

So with the new information about Google reader going away (as of July 1, 2013), it means you will not longer be able to follow this blog with Google Friend Connect (after then), I have set up a Bloglovin account.

Which means if you would like to keep up with what I am posting you will need to follow using Bloglovin. I have played with this and it is user friendly... so the switch should be as easy as it was to follow with GFC.

There is a petition going on currently to tell Google how much we use and love Goggle reader to follow things. If you would like to voice your opinion and sign the petition I am including a link to it below:

I have already signed it as have many, many other bloggers. I hope you will too.

Delush Polish Review

I was selected to review a new indie maker Delush Polish

She sent me three minis for review from her upcoming Downton A-List Collection that will be released on the 14th of March. So in just a few days! Visit the Facebook page for more info! (anywhere you see the words 'Delush Polish' click on them and it will take you to her Facebook page)

Lady Sybiling which she describes as:

"Introducing Lady Sybiling (Inspired by Lady Sybil Crawley)

Sybil is the youngest Crawley sibling, (see what I did there ;) she is passionate and strong willed who early on displayed her desire to break free from the social restrictions her status had bestowed upon her, so much so that she eventually fell in love with an Irishman and moved to Ireland! Inspired by the Shamrock, the symbol for Ireland, this gorgeous emerald green base with sparks of multifaceted gold shapes represent her spark. If you look closely, tiny black flecks swim amongst the teal diamonds, this represents her unfortunate and untimely demise :( She is a character I certainly miss!"

This is a thin Green base (closer to a teal green more then an emerald in my opinion) with LOTS of glitter! You've got large, medium and small holo hexi's, teal diamonds, medium and small holo squares and black micro glitter.  It applies good, but you will either need 3-4 coats or find something in the green family or white to wear as undies.   If you work slowly with the glitters you can move them around to keep them from stacking on top of each other. Which I did on the ring and middle fingers.

Here you can see on the index and pinky finger the stacking of the glitter.

Shown here with the top half undies as Mint from DOTS and the bottom half is Alpine Snow from OPI (with flash)

With two coats of Seche Vite it still had a bit of texture from all the glitters stacking on each other.

Her Ladyship which she describes as:

"Introducing Her Ladyship (Inspired by Cora Crawley, Countess of Grantham)

Cora is the American leading lady in the show, I see her as a calming influence over the household and she knows how to deal with a crisis (remember the death of Kemal Pamuk anyone?) The coral base is inspired by her name as well as her kind nature and the hints of daisies, multi-coloured flecks of teal and bright pink really make this beauty pop."

This is a thin Coral orangish pink base with lots of glitter. This one has medium and small holo hexi's, medium and small holo, pink and teal squares, pink micro and the occasional flower glitter. This one applies kinda streaky but applying a few coats clears this up. With 3-4 coats making it completely opaque. (I like to not be able to see through the nail when a polish is on)  If you work slowly with the glitters you can move them around to keep them from stacking on top of each other.

Two coats of Seche Vite and there was still a bit of texture from glitters stacking on top of each other.

All these photos where taken with natural lighting

O'Brien's Revenge which she describes as:

"Introducing O'Brien's Revenge (Inspired by Sarah O'Brien)

O'brien is known for her malicious scheming and meddling ways, we witness time and time again how she doesn't waste any opportunity to exploit someone for her own benefit. When making this polish, I imagined her as hard as nails, even a rusty nail! And thus this rusty red came to be!"

This is a coppery red almost metallic color. Opaque in 1-2 coats.  Applies very smoothly.

Over all thoughts....

The smell of these are much stronger then the smell of any other polish that I have but it goes away after a few minutes and doesn't leave any trace once it's dry so it's not too bad.
I think the glitter polishes (Lady Sybiling and Her Ladyship), dare I say it, have a little too much glitter (too many different types and sizes) in them for my taste, but they are pretty colors. O'Brien's Revenge is a color like I have not seen before which makes it so interesting to me.

I am excited to see what Delush polish comes out with in her future collections!

***Note from Delush Polish that I received in an email*** (as I sent this to her to read before posting)

"You mentioned the smell was stronger I just wanted an opportunity to respond to this. I believe another brand had the same scent, after having purchased an entire gallon and began using it, it could no longer be returned, however I did want to clarify that I will be replacing my base with one that performs at the same high standard I expect to deliver but with a lighter scent."
